Who We Are
Texas Gift Ideas was formed to promote the cowboy-way of life with major emphases on
Texas cowboys. We were born and raised in Texas and really don't know anything else.
Although we are not cowboys or cattle ranchers we love the country and the country way
of life. For this reason we hope to tell you more about Texas and show you a large number
of photographs that will depict a little about Texas, Texas cowboys, and the West Texas
ranch life.
Our Interests
A few short months back we were privileged to be allowed to spend some time with the
Texas Cowboys on a real working ranch, one that does the roping and branding as they
did 100 years ago. We spent two nights and three days a long way from civilization. We
endured 100 degree days, the dust and the dirt, and the same hard days that were
endured by the cowboys. We slept on the ground, washed in the horse trough, and ate
our food off tin plates at the chuck waggon. We rolled out of bed at
5:30am (after the boys got up) and quit when the sun went down. Now that sounds like
we really had it hard and we did, but we didn't work nearly as hard as the cowboys did.
As a result of that experience and at least one other trip back to that ranch, we were sold
on the cowboy/ranch way of life. Hundreds of pictures were taken and many you will see
and have the opportunity to purchase right here at TGI.
Other Interests
In addition to the above, you will find primarily handmade gifts such as wood pens,
bowls, salt shakers, steak turners, and other gift items in which you will be interested. If
we do not have them at this time, we will in the near future. Until then we will show you
where they can be found. We hope to make a little money but primarily we want you to
